9 Gifts for Knitters Who Have Everything

I think it’s pretty simple to figure out the perfect gifts for knitters. Just buy some yarn! My husband disagrees, though. He says he’s never sure how much or what kind of yarn to buy. With that in mind, I created a guide for all the spouses, siblings, and friends of knitters who are looking for that perfect gift.

Gifts for Knitters Who Love Fashion

Wearing a measuring tape means you’ll always have one nearby. On-the-go knitters will appreciate not having to pack an additional item in their notions bag.

Measuring tape bracelets are available in several colors. This one is adjustable and fits wrists up to 10″ around.

Gifts for Knitters Who Need a Sip

I love sheep thrills! I had to include the adorably themed “Sheep Thrills” wine. It’s under $10.00/bottle and is perfect for a Sip ‘n’ Stitch. Even better, you can find it at Total Wine!

Somehow, I’m always searching for a pair of scissors. I have several cute pairs, but, like my stitch markers, they always seem to disappear.

My favorite thing about these scissors is their character! For travelers, snag a pair of scissors with a landmark handle. More importantly, they’re small enough to be allowed on flights, a feature travelers will love!

Animal lovers are also covered. (No judgment if the animal isn’t a real one.)

Gifts for Knitters and Their Friends

Some gifts for knitters can be enjoyed by the whole family! Knit Wit has excellent reviews.

Similarly, the creators of ArchRavels understood that knitters needed to play with friends. Because of this, they’ve incorporated common knitwear into gameplay, too. While the game is fairly new, its reviews are stellar!

Gifts for Knitters Who Are Readers

Of course, you can’t go wrong with a book of patterns or techniques by a well-respected knitting author. My personal favorite is Ann Budd!

If you aren’t sure what your knitter already has in their library, consider a work of fiction.

Surprisingly, the Knitting Mysteries are real books! And I thought they were fun little reads.

Gifts for Knitters with Balls

One of the best ways to keep yarn still while working is by putting it in a yarn bowls. These bowls keep the yarn from rolling away! Before the knitter begins working, s/he slips the yarn through the notch on the side. It slides through, ensuring the ball rolls around in place.

If you’re handy with ceramics or wood, make one for the knitter in your life! (If you’re not, you can still buy one.)

I’m also starting to see more ceramic yarn bowls. If the edges are smooth enough to not snag, they work beautifully, too!

Gifts for Knitters on the Go

Projects of all sizes require storage and transport. Grab a project bag.

What does your knitter like to make? For socks, go small. For blankets, go big!

I love that the patterns are simple and clean, just like the lines of the bag. I can picture slipping my arm right in and knitting as I walk along!

Also consider drum-style bags, which are better for multiple WIPs or larger projects.

If your knitter works with multiple yarns at once, this bag may be a better fit.

Gifts for Knitters Who Love Hand-Dyed Yarn

I think that yarn tends to behave better when it’s caked. Having a ball winder and a swift — that’s the thing that looks like the guts of an umbrella — allows a knitter to cake their yarn at home! An additional swift doesn’t hurt, especially if the knitter in your life has a stash full of hanked yarn.

Gifts for Knitters with an Edge: A Good Laugh

I think these are hilarious, but they are not for kids (or some adults). Proceed with caution!

For the discerning knitter, perhaps a sassy accessory is in order.

What’s the best knitting-related gift you’ve ever been given?
