Cupcake Heaven in Haymarket, Virginia

I found heaven in Historic Haymarket… and it is full of cupcakes!

Cupcake Heaven in Haymarket, Virginia offers a variety of baked goods that are as beautiful as they are delicious. We stumbled upon this shop while visiting the nearby Haymarket Museum and we simply couldn’t resist popping in for a taste.

The bakery-café also serves hand-crafted beverages, scones, brownies, turnovers, muffins, and quiches. They all looked like they’d be delicious, but we were there for one thing: the cupcakes!

There were several cupcake options on display, including the flavors of the week. They were all so beautiful! I thought it might be hard to choose.

I’m a huge Red Velvet fan, but only when it’s topped with cream cheese frosting. I was pleased to see that this pairing was offered at Cupcake Heaven and that’s exactly what I ordered!

My kiddos opted for the Cookies & Cream and Red Velvet with Butter Cream cupcakes. (Whose children are these that they would choose butter cream over cream cheese?!)

My Red Velvet cupcake (pictured topped with crumbs) was delicious. The cream cheese frosting was the perfect blend of sweet and tangy and the cake was springy and moist. I snagged a bite of my daughter’s Cookies & Cream and it was good, too. I couldn’t help thinking it would be perfect for a birthday party… for kids or grown-ups!

Kim, the owner, also handled my son’s last-second change of heart with patience and grace. Oh, kids!

Chocolate Bliss, Vanilla Divine, Vanilla with Milk Chocolate, Triple Chocolate, and Vanilla Almond with Raspberry are also offered daily. There is also a changing menu of weekly flavors (think Chocolate-Covered Strawberry and Cheesecake) which can be found on the Cupcake Heaven website.
