About Cockleshells Stitch
Cockleshells Stitch is a reversible, fan-shaped stitch that is worked on a background of yarnover lace.
This stitch is useful in creating allover texture for blankets or home textiles. It’s also an excellent edging.
I used 223 yards (204 meters) of yarn to complete this panel.
This pattern was adapted from 50 Fabulous Knit Stitches by Rita Weiss.
Abbreviations
BO – bind off
CO – cast on
k – knit
p – purl
p2tog – purl 2 together; single decrease
st(s) – stitch(es)
yo – yarn over
Notes
Stitch counts for each row include yarnovers on that row. Even though these stitches should not be counted till they are worked as stitches on the next row, I think it is easier to stay on track when they are included in the count.
