Hector’s of Lake Ridge [Restaurant Review]
Hector’s of Lake Ridge is a Mexican restaurant that opened in Tackett’s Mill in 2023. It is the sister of Hector’s of Nokesville (est. 2019) and offers the same delicious food and cozy atmosphere.
I visited Hector’s of Lake Ridge with my sister and mom after The Monet Experience. We were hungry and wanted a cozy space to discuss our experiences at the exhibit. Hector’s was perfect.

The Restaurant
As soon as we walked in, we realized that Hector’s of Lake Ridge definitely has a vibe! It’s spacious and has multiple dining areas. The bar is the most spacious. With its bright colors and vaulted ceilings, it’s easy to picture a pop-up band and dance floor being set up there on a weekend night. The booths next to the kitchen provide a more intimate dining space. The lighting is lower, the colors are darker, and it feels more enclosed because of the lowered ceilings.
The tables by the main window offer a view of the water and have a bright, open feel. When the weather supports it, there are outdoor tables, too.
We sat by the window and enjoyed the view. After our meal, we took a short walk, following the paved path around the pond. It follows Tackett’s Mill shopping center and part of the adjacent neighborhood.

The Food
The menu at Hector’s is expansive, offering several Mexican restaurant staples in the form of plates, lunch specials, and combo platters. We stuck with familiar dishes, eager to try the Hector’s version.
Upon arrival, we were served warm chips with salsa. We also ordered a gratin dish of cheese dip that was served up hot. It was delicious! We salted the chips to taste, but otherwise considered the appetizer to be perfect.
My mom ordered the cheese enchilada/chile relleno combo from the vegetarian menu. She loved the entire dish, describing it as well spiced (but not spicy) and filling.
All three of us enjoyed our meals, but my sister declared the chimichanga, her favorite Mexican entrée, to be the best one she had ever eaten! What an endorsement!
I ordered the Quesadilla de la Cena, a quesadilla stuffed with steak, bell peppers, and onions. I had it with guacamole and fresh tomatoes. It’s also available with shrimp or chicken and typically served with sour cream, too.
Quesadillas are a fairly straightforward food, but the handmade tortilla and grilled fillings — the green peppers and onions in particular — were fresh and perfectly seasoned. I’m sure I’ll order this again next time. While I would love to expand my Hector’s palate, I’ll have to rely on a bite of someone else’s dish to do so. This is too good to pass up!
