LYS Day 2022: How Are You Celebrating?

Local Yarn Shop Day (officially Local Yarn Store Day or LYS Day) is an annual celebration of needle arts shops. The National Needle Arts Association organizes this shop appreciation event, which draws thousands each year.

This year, LYS Day will take place on Saturday, April 30. Its purpose is to show support for small businesses while bringing together a community of needle artists (knitters, crocheters, weavers, and spinners). The day brings awareness to our crafts and also celebrates them! Shops can also use this day to showcase their products, classes, and services.

According to TNNA, many shops report that this day is their best sales day of the year!

How to Participate

Show up and shop.

Seriously, that’s it! And if you can’t show up, shop online!

I love local yarn shops and will use any excuse to visit them… but LYS Day truly is an excellent reason to visit yours because it probably has yarn on sale, door prizes, and more! Most local yarn shops have some sort of promotion in place because they’re just as happy to see you as you are to see them.
