The Count’s Spooktacular is a Sesame Street-themed Halloween event at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. As longtime BGW fans, we were excited to check it out!
We’d been to the spring events held at Sesame Street Forest of Fun. During Kids’ Weekends, the backstage area was open and kids could add to the mural wall. The Count’s Spooktacular also used the backstage area and had its own mural wall.
The Spooktacular also included a trick-or-treat trail through a hay maze! The treats included allergy-friendly choices and some healthier options like Smashmallow Rice Treats. Children could go through multiple times if they chose.
There were also Halloween-themed crafts, like monster masks.
Hula hoops, hopscotch, and cornhole kept our kids occupied for far longer than I thought they would!
Costume items (wands, wings, capes, etc.) were available for purchase if you didn’t have your own. There were also treat bags available for purchase for the trick-or-treat trail.
The Count’s Spooktacular Show
There was also a special Spooktacular show, which featured our favorite Sesame Street characters in their own costumes. It filled up quickly, though! Be sure to arrive in time to find a good spot.
Good to Know
There was no additional charge for this event; it is included with park admission.
Sesame Street Forest of Fun closes at 5:00PM on Howl-o-Scream days. The entire park becomes “scary” at 5:45PM, so parents are encouraged to take small children out beforehand. (Of course, they won’t try to scare young children, but they could easily see something unsettling.)
