Yarn Seasons [Local Yarn Shop]
Yarn Seasons, formerly The Crooked Stitch, is a local yarn shop near the shores of Smith Mountain Lake.
🧶 This visit is part of the Ultimate Virginia Yarn Crawl.
You might not be familiar with Hardy, Virginia, even if you do know your way around the Commonwealth. It’s a town on the shores of Smith Mountain Lake, the largest lake in Virginia. It’s also home to Yarn Seasons, a delightful local yarn shop.
Yarn Seasons
Yarn Seasons is a delightful shop just minutes from Smith Mountain Lake.
This cozy little shop has several communal workspaces, from couches to tables and chairs to the yarn-bombed rockers on the front porch. The porch has been especially useful during COVID-19, but is always enjoyable when the weather is mild.
Yarn Seasons carries many beautiful choices, including a handful of regional yarns. These gorgeous colorways are from Unplanned Peacock Studio in Ferrum, Virginia.
This colorway by North Carolina-based Camel City Designs is available exclusively at this shop!
There are several other locally-made items, including these buttons. The ones in the tube are made of deer antler, and are hand-crafted by a local hunter.
Project bags in many sizes, made by Kelly’s Mom, are also available here. I couldn’t resist the cuteness. I purchased a gorgeous medium-sized project bag covered in inquisitive llamas!
When able, the shop hosts several weekly meet-ups and classes. No matter where you are, you can Zoom in on WIP Wednesday and join some friendly stitchers!
Recognize any of these books? I found several that I have in my own library plus some I’ve been wanting to add for quite a while. I was so excited to see that there was also a sale shelf!
